Victoria Civic Centres & Community Halls
Norway House is home to The Victoria Folk Music Society with most shows hosted here. It is also the home of the Sons of Norway and the Eidsvold Lodge was formed on the 24th of May, 1946.
Established in 1955 to provide assistance and support to Italian immigrants, this community centre continues that mandate as well as offering educational and recreational activities for the community at large. Hall rentals, language classes and ongoing special events are available.
Pearkes Recreation Centre is a multi-purpose recreation facility that sports two ice rinks for hockey and figure skating, fitness facilities and classes, sport courts and teen activity centre. The Saanich Centennial Public Library is located here too, in addition to Saanich Neighbourhood Place. A large exhibition space is also here, popular for expos, fairs and sales.
Serving the greater Fairfield and Gonzales communities, this centre offers an array of programs and services for all ages, including recreational courses, after-school care, drop-in play groups and cultural activities. An array of community enhancement and promotion initiatives are undertaken year-round.
Family support services, arts, culture and recreational programming, child care and assorted community-building initiatives are provided by this community center, which also plays host to numerous year-round events.
