Second only to San Francisco in per capita restaurants, Victoria hosts an event to allow residents and visitors alike the opportunity to dine at some of the city's best at bargain rates. Tourism Victoria and the Victoria branch of the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association (BCRFA) organizes the event. Watch for participating restaurants around town, each offering three-course menus for $20, $30 or $40 CDN per person. Participants have included Smoken Bones Cookshack, Sen Zushi, Fiamo Italian Kitchen, Chandler's Seafood, The Empress Room and Bon Rouge. There are around 60 restaurants in all to choose from.

Overnight stays are available at participating accommodations value-priced at $69, $79, $99 and $129.

The Victoria Spoken Word Festival attracts poets from across the country to participate in a series of workshops culminating in diverse performances for the Victorian crowd. Ten poets are chosen.

The Ocean Project, an international network of over 1,000 aquariums, zoos, museums, and conservation organizations including the GWEC, is working closely with the World Ocean Network to coordinate activities worldwide under the theme “Oceans of Life – Pick your Favorite * Protect your Favorite” with a special focus on getting the public to connect their favorite ocean animal to conserving the world’s oceans.

To celebrate the Gorge Waterway Education Centre and the Township of Esquimalt will host a World Oceans Day Celebration with canoe tours on the Gorge, face-painting and crafts, games, interpretive walks, environmental monitoring, educational displays, live music and food! Several other local NGOs will also be there with informative displays, and we will have some special ocean crafts for sale. All proceeds from the day will go towards environmental education programs at the GWEC.

Four days of French culture are celebrated annually with this festival. A variety of events occur including a pub kick-off party, workshops and a Salon des Artisans. The festival is presented by La Societe Francophone de Victoria.
