Kristi Bridgeman August Show at Sooke Harbour House

    Aug 01 to Aug 31
Victoria fine artist and illustrator Kristi Bridgeman will exhibit select pieces from her recent Restoration and Temple series, as well as several of her eastern inspired ink and watercolour mandalas.

Kristi’s muse for much of this exhibit is the rainforest near her home. She is influenced by works of Canadian Impressionists, Emily Carr, as well as many eastern works. Her trademark amber and sepia pallet evolved after searching for earth friendly mediums. The distinctive medium brings a warm, ethereal, west coast feeling to her works.

In addition to fine art, Kristi has illustrated several award winning children’s books, and has worked extensively with children’s and environmental causes.

OPENING RECEPTION: Sunday, August 3rd, 2008, in the Garden Room.

Artist in Attendance, Painting Demonstration, Refreshments, Free Admission. Show runs until August 31st. Send an Email Send an Email

    Doug and Ken

Toronto, 2504 AD, by Ken Steacy

    Aug 14 to Sep 23
    Ken Steacy and Douglas Coupland
Doug and Ken is about the dynamic process Ken Steacy, illustrator for Star Wars, Spider-Man, Harry Potter to mention a few, and Douglas Coupland employ when working together. Doug conveys the subject in question, then together they assemble the work with both random abondon and Lego-like structure, using pencil, pen and ink, and pixels.
This amazing exhibition gives people the opportunity to see how illustration is created, we will be showing the whole process - from sketch to published work.
